A 50-ton Grove Telescopic boom Truck Crane has left a lasting imprint after it crashed through a bridge at SunnyBrook Ballroom in Lower Pottsgrove Township on Monday.

The crane had come to work on an HVAC system at the ballroom and crashed through the bridge just after 9:30 a.m. Monday. The upside-down crane was lifted out of Sprongel’s Run by a Eisenhart Crane Service, LLC owned Demag All terrain Crane and was cleared from the area Monday before midnight.

“Crews got out there and started working on it in the mid-afternoon and by mid-evening, they got it out,” he said. “It was out by 11 p.m. last night.”

The crane was taken to be repaired, but James said the wooden bridge, which serves as an entrance to SunnyBrook, is going to need some work before it’s fit for traffic.
