An older model Manitowoc Boom Truck crane buckled Thursday, damaging a Missouri State building.

An official with the university said the Kirberg Roofing Inc was using the crane to repair the roof at the Jim D. Morris Center in Springfield, MO

The crane was in the process of removing deteriorated concrete fill from the roof when the jib section buckled and collapsed.

The crane buckled at a weld point where the boom section connects to the swing away jib of the crane, causing the collapse.
