ALE’s Middle East branch has installed the first gas turbine set for the new Jebel Ali M Station Expansion (JAMEX) project, UAE.
The set comprised of a gas turbine, weighing 310t, and a gas turbine generator, weighing 327t. They were received in Jebel Ali port onto 24 axle lines of SPMT in a 4 file 12 configuration. They were then transported to site from Jebel Ali Port, approximately 7km, where they were stored whilst the foundation was completed and the Lift ‘n’ Lock system was installed.
ALE were able to install the gas turbine set as per the site’s strict schedule and ALE are now preparing to receive and install the next gas turbine set for the project.
This is part of a bigger scope, where ALE are contracted to transport and deliver two gas turbine sets one steam turbine set, two diverters, transformers and various different sized harps.
