A crew with DF Tomasini, Inc. Contractors of Sussex, WI used an excavator to remove large tree trunks, branches and debris from the Milwaukee River.
The Milwaukee County Parks Department has three days under a state order to remove tree trunks, branches, trash and other debris that have accumulated behind ice barriers upstream of a dam on the Milwaukee River.
All debris that has accumulated at the line of concrete barriers must be lifted out of the river by Wednesday, under a removal order from the state Department of Natural Resources. The barriers downstream of N. Port Washington Road protect the dam from ice damage.
