According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the older model 3 axle Grove hydraulic truck crane veered off southbound I-75 near mile marker 228 in Manatee County.
The crane owned by Glenn Pinciotti of Action Crane Tech Inc. located in Valrico, FL appears to have blown a tire causing the crane to flip over.

The crane operator John L. Wells, 42, was killed when the crane flipped over and crashed.
The view from SkyFOX showed the crane truck had come to a stop in the brush. Several emergency crews remained on the scene as a class C wrecker was brought in to remove the crane, which flipped on its side in the ditch about 125 feet away from the road.
