The group has decided to focus on complex engineering assignments and other assignments other than crane service in Norway. It is due to the fierce competition in the Norwegian market and a challenging economic situation, says CEO Pieter Johan G. Augustyns parent company Sarens AS.

Nationally it means that 55 employees lose their jobs.

We are now moving equipment and shall liquidate the business in late April. This has been a great process, which we have carried out together with the officers because of the situation. We are working to find new jobs for as many as possible, but it requires a lot of work, says Auguststyns. The decision was taken by the board in March.

Sarens was established in Norway in 1982, according to the company’s website. The firm then called RMS Norway, delivered and performed technical solutions related to transportation, skid and lifting operations in civil and offshore industry.

Sarens NV Group has 4,200 employees in more than 60 countries. Sarens is a leader in special lifts, rigging, crane services and special transport nationally and internationally.
