Konecranes video: De-Coupling the Crane and Operator

An infographic-based video released by Konecranes shows traditional yard crane operations at terminals, as well as making the case for remote operation of yard cranes.

The container crane manufacturer asks the question of whether automation is key in the drive for increased productivity and safety, with its remote operating technology presenting new opportunities for working in an operating centre remotely.

As a result, the current 20% of idling time in traditional operations can be converted to productive working time and is thereby eliminated.
