The company running the 32-ton Boomtruck  is Builders Diversified Services. A man was operating the crane from the back of the truck when this happened and used a kill switch to shut off the engine.

A woman and her dog were in one of the homes when the truck crashed through the house. No one was in the other house at the time. No one was hurt.

“I’m kind of numb. I’m just kind of glad my dog’s OK is the main thing. Hopefully, you know, I know everything will be OK, God wills,” said homeowner Faye Aleria.

Action News Jax reports, the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was on scene in case they were needed while the three cranes were working to move the upended truck with the crane attached.

“I guess that part of the tree was too heavy for that crane and the tree service guy tried to tell him it was too heavy and he wouldn’t listen to him,” Aleria said.

The owner of Builders Diversified Services said they are still working to figure out how this happened. OSHA is also investigating.

Chris Kemp, the owner of Builders Diversified Services, sent us this statement:

“Our biggest objective today was making sure that everyone was safe and the crane was brought down safely without further damage being done. We will be doing a full investigation of the incident and will be happy to provide a statement when we know the details. Again, today our biggest concern was making sure everyone was safe and the homeowner’s house secured. We thank JSO and JFRD for all the time and their diligence. BDS regrets the accident happened.”
