Marco Crane & Rigging Co. is working for Badiee Development and using their 300-ton capacity Link-Belt HC-278H II lattice boom truck crane to erect a Tilt Up Construction Project for an Industrial Park in Carlsbad.

The Link-Belt HC-278H II has a very fast build up and break down and the lower carrier transports separately from the upper to the job site. Once built up, the combination of ease of use and strong build quality make this 300-tonner a very capable crane. Other features include the ability to travel with a load using the rolling outriggers that can be used to support the crane while traveling with a load.

With the tilt-up method, concrete elements (walls, columns, structural supports, etc.) are formed horizontally on a concrete slab; this normally requires the building floor as a building form but may be a temporary concrete casting surface near the building footprint. After the concrete has cured, the elements are “tilted” to the vertical position with a crane and braced into position until the remaining building structural components (roofs, intermediate floors and walls) are secured.
