A Turner Industries Demag AC 435 All Terrain Crane was involved in a single-vehicle crash that happened shortly after 8 a.m CST.

The 180-ton (US) capacity 5 axle crane jackknifed on southbound I-110 Monday morning in Baton Rouge, killing one person and shutting down the interstate to all traffic.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred just before 8:30 a.m., said Sgt. Don Coppola Jr., a Baton Rouge police spokesman.

Jacob McGuff, 20, of Denham Springs, lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center and inside travel lanes and struck the North 22nd Street overpass, Coppola said. McGuff was ejected and died on the scene.
