Engine manufacturer Deutz has reached an agreement to supply Chinese construction equipment manufacturer Sany Heavy Machinery Co. with Deutz TCD 7.8 diesel engines for its SW405 wheel loaders. The engines meet the U.S. EPA Tier 4 and EU Stage IV emissions standards. The standard exhaust after-treatment system features a diesel particulate filter and selective catalytic reduction. Because of the DPF, the engines also fulfill the next emissions standard, EU Stage V which will come into force in 2019. The engines also meet requirements for more strictly regulated markets such as Switzerland and municipal applications in Germany, Deutz said.

“We are delighted to be collaborating with Deutz on our Stage IV wheel loader for highly regulated markets,” said Chen Guizhi, head of the wheel loader segment at Sany. “The engine specification and modular exhaust after-treatment is beneficial for us, and we have found working with the Deutz global network to be a very positive experience.”

“Together we are looking ahead to a successful partnership,” added Michael Wellenzohn, member of the board of management of Deutz AG with responsibility for sales, service and marketing.
