Fenton Rigging & Contracting of Cincinnati handled the job with two cranes from Maxim Crane, the biggest of which was brought into the cramped space tucked behind Rubbertown chemical plants on several semi trucks. The boom reached 200 feet, extending from one side of an earthen levee to the other.

It weighed as much as ten Ford Explorers and was slipped into a vault by a crane crew with a razor-thin margin of error. And when their work was done on Wednesday, tens of thousands of homes in Louisville were made a little safer from flooding.
